Our Adoption Timeline

12/18/2013- We attended an Andrew Peterson concert where the Show Hope foundation was highlighted.  Gathered more information about Show Hope and international adoption.

7/3/2014- Contacted Show Hope about Garrick. Given CCAI information. Reached out to CCAI about Garrick’s file. File not available yet.

7/7/14- Officially submitted Family worksheet and Medical checklist to CCAI.

3/16/15- Received Garrick’s file!

3/23/15- CCAI application and LOI submitted.

3/24/15- CCAI application and LOI received and approved.

3/29/15- Officially Locked to Garrick

4/3/15- Received Pre- Approval letter! Now able to send him packages.

4/16/15- First day of CCAI Orientation- 1st Agency payment due.

4/ 24/15- 2nd Home Study meeting with case worker.

6/22/15- 3rd & 4th home study interviews (SW told us we could not do them until all our documents were in)

7/24/15- Home study completion/i-800a application sent.

7/28/15- All documents except i800a sent to Consulate

8/17/15- walked into USCIS for fingerprints. Expedite approved!

8/20/15- i800a arrives!

8/26/15- Turned in dossier to CCAI to be reviewed. awaiting i800a authentication from Houston.

9/2/15- Complete dossier in translation

9/4/15- Dossier to China!

9/7/15- Logged in Date (LID)!

9/14/15- Letter of Approval

10/1/15- I-800 Approval

10/08/15- GUZ #, DS260 submitted to NVC

10/13/15- Article 5 drop off

10/15/15- Article 5 pick up

10/19/15- Travel Approval!

11/4/15- Leave for China!!

11/9/15- Gotcha day/Family day

11/18/15- Consulate appointment

11/20/15- Fly home
